Privacy Policy

Effective 6 July 2026

Vantage is built local-first. Wherever we reasonably can, your data stays on your device and is processed there. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information.

Plain-language summary: the app runs on your device. Signal scoring and email analysis happen on-device. If you turn on optional cloud sync, what we store is encrypted so we cannot read it. Anything you mark “local-only” never leaves your phone. We do not track you and we show no ads.

1. Information processed on your device

2. Optional cloud sync

If you enable sync, your ventures and items are encrypted on your device before being sent, and the service stores only that ciphertext. The encryption key remains on your device; we cannot read your synced content. Metadata required to route your data to your account (such as a stable account identifier) is processed to operate the service.

3. Email access (Gmail and IMAP)

Connecting a mailbox is optional. Access is read-only — the app never sends, moves, marks, or deletes your mail. For Gmail, we request only the read-only scope. Your mailbox credentials or tokens are stored on your device (in the platform keychain), not on our servers.

4. What we do not do

5. Third-party services

If you use them, these providers process data under their own policies: Google (Gmail sign-in / read-only access) and Microsoft Azure (optional encrypted sync and, when enabled, cloud AI on redacted, non-sensitive content).

6. Data retention and deletion

Data on your device is removed when you delete it or uninstall the app. If you used sync, you can delete your synced (encrypted) data and disconnect at any time; contact us to request deletion of any account-associated data.

7. Children

The app is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

8. Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.

This policy reflects the app's current design and is provided in good faith. Have it reviewed by qualified counsel before a public production launch, and update it if the deployed backend changes what data is processed.
